The Malton 10k Photography
The tastiest 10k in Britain takes place in Malton, Yorkshire.
The Malton 10k includes stops along the route to enjoy small portions of various food and drink from local producers and eateries.
I’ve shot the Malton 10k (formerally the Marathon du Malton) twice now and I certainly learnt some lessons coming back for the second year.
Photographing people can be tricky, but it’s especially tricky when they’re running and spread out over 10 kilometres of Yorkshire countryside!
I worked with Visit Malton, the event organisers, to highlight key spots along the route where there were multiple food stops so I could capture groups of people enjoying food. In the end, due to creative planning (and a little bit of off road driving and running) I was able to capture shots at every single stall.
As well as during the run, I captured shots of runners in fancy dress before the run and the entertainment afterwards. Despite a bit of rain, everyone was in good spirits and the shots came out great!
